Mac OS X Lion

Assalamualaikum..

Due to the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), Apple’s annual event, there’s so many blogs wrote about it. So, I also wanna write about this, but not the whole event. I just wanna write about a software that has amazed me at the WWDC 2011, the Mac OS X Lion.

Why Lion? Not iOS or iCloud? Because to me, I am more attracted to the Mac OS X Lion than the iOS 5 and iCloud. So guys, I introduced to you The World’s Most Advanced Desktop OS.

Lion now supports multi-touch gestures on its trackpad. Means that you can now control your Mac like the iPhone and iPad!

Mission Control, switch between open apps, scrolling pages, zooming pics and navigate pages now can be done through the trackpad. This is really awesome! To zoom pics, just pinch or tap the trackpad, no need to hit the '”Ctrl +” button. Switch between apps also can be done easier than before on the Mac OS X Lion. Scrolling, navigating pages now also can be done on the trackpad. Well, who need mouse now?

2. Mission Control

Now you can view all open apps, Dashboard, Expose and Spaces together in a bird’s eye-view. Just click to open any apps you want or view what apps are running on your Mac. Just swipe the trackpad. :)

3. Full-screen apps

Not satisfied with the maximized windows? Introducing the Full-Screen Apps. You can view all apps and pages full-screen now. And also, you can have multiple full-screen apps at once. Just swipe the trackpad sidely to switch between running full-screen apps.

4. Mail

Mail now even better with the Mac OS X Lion. Not only it can be open full-screen but you have the messages list includinng snippets. Conversations between the same threads, search suggestion and search tokens now included in the new Mail apps. You can search your past messages faster with the search suggestion and tokens. Also, Apple add a new Favorites bar to let you access easily to the folder that you use more often.

5. Launchpad

Beside the Mission Control, now you have the Launchpad. Similar to the iOS menu grid, Launchpad is the new full-screen desktops or home for all the apps in your Mac. Click the Launchpad icon at the Dock and it will bring you to a full-screen display of all your apps in your Mac. Arrange it, group it, do whatever you want just like the iOS.

6. Mac App Store

If the iOS has its own App store, the Android also has its own Android Market, same goes to BlackBerry OS where it has it’s own App world, Symbian with it’s Ovi Store and the Windows Phone 7 with it’s MarketPlace, the Mac OS X Lion is the world’s first desktop OS to has its own App Store(the Snow Leopard also has) which it calls the Mac App Store. Similar to the iOS App Store, you now can purchased any apps you want at the Mac App Store. Mac App Store also is the only way to purchase the Lion OS for $29.99 only.

Well, this 6 only I can review for you guys. For more information, you can watch the video below or just go here. Adios guys !
